In his heroic and gestural oil paintings, Henning Kürschner crosses borders between the abstract and the representational. His seemingly pure abstractions in fact almost always draw their inspiration from the figure. Vibrant, lively colorfields intermingle and open to reveal deep interiors peopled by expressionistic and totemic humankind. Henning Kürschner has exhibited throughout Europe and is currently a professor of art at the Art Academy of Berlin. He is a founding member of the artists group Grossgorschen 35.
