Brad Brown The Look Stains Fassbender Gallery is pleased to present San Francisco artist Brad Brown, presenting The Look Stains in Fassbender Gallery's Project Room. This monumental and ongoing installation of drawings was begun in 1987. It will feature the most up to the minute output in this artist's investigation of creating and displaying artworks on a rigid schedule, whether or not he is satisfied with the results. In a continuous series of exhibitions, he has put forth an unexpurgated floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall wallpaper of drawings. The results are suprising, and not always in a good way. This daily diary draws inspiration from all areas of the artist's life, sometimes even scavenging bits from earlier works in the series. In the tradition of On Kawara and Jonathon Borofsky, Brown provides a complete record of his time spent in the studio and an intimate portrait of the evolution of his creative process.
